Earth Day Mommy Tip: Wally’s Natural Organic Body Oil

In honor of Earth Day tomorrow, I’d like to gush a bit about an amazing organic body oil that was sent to me for review. It is Wally’s Natural Organic Body Oil made with all natural ingredients rich in vitamins and minerals. Wally’s Natural products are dermatologist-tested, non-GMO and are not tested on animals – extra points in my book!

I’ve been using Mama Mio Tummy Rub Stretch Mark Butter to prevent stretch marks on my almost seven-month (and growing) pregnant belly. And while I love the body butter, the scent is still a bit too strong for me to get over. So when I received Wally’s Natural Organic Body Oil to test, I was all about trying something different. I love the roll-on applicator because it feels like a mini massage on my belly when I apply it. I also LOVE the scent! It contains sesame seed oil, castor oil, lavender oil, calendula extract, aloe vera leaf extract, Vitamin E and geranium oil.

I apply the body oil on my belly twice a day, usually in the morning and at night before I go to bed. I also apply it whenever my belly feels tight or like its stretching and it provides immediate relief. So far so good, no stretch marks and moisturized skin!

If you’re expecting and want to prevent stretch marks or if you’re looking for an organic moisturizer, you should definitely give Wally’s Natural Organic Body Oil a try. For more information, check them out on Instagram and Facebook!

Sweeter Than a Box of Chocolates, I’m Already In Love 💙

It’s been a while since my last post. My life has been a whirlwind since my last trip to NYC. I feel blessed and grateful to announce that I am expecting a baby boy due this summer! I am only now just coming to the realization of this amazing gift and I couldn’t be more excited.

Lots of changes are taking place in my life, from changes in my body to changes in my life. It’s a welcome journey and can’t wait until he gets here. So yes, I will still be reviewing beauty products and attending events here in Vegas and hopefully NYC, but now I have an added a new category to my blog – mommy hood. It’s an entirely new playing field for me so I’ve been reading books, scouring the Internet and tapping into my mommy gal pals and bloggers for insight and tips.

The first book I purchased as soon as I found out I was pregnant was Yeah Baby! By Jillian Michaels. I’m about halfway through and I must say it is truly eye-opening in its perspective about becoming a modern mama, mastering pregnancy, having a healthy baby and bouncing back better than ever. I can easily get overwhelmed with the abundance of pregnancy information out there so starting with this book has helped me stay calm and cool. In addition to this, I’ve substituted my boot camp classes with prenatal yoga classes to help me stay active and flexible.

I’ve been trying to eat organic and healthy and just being aware of what I’m consuming. No junk food or caffeine. I must say, I feel fabulous! I do need a little help with maternity fashion but I’m getting better at it, or at least I’d like to this so.

So I’m still here and I plan to get back into blogging whether its about beauty or baby stuff. Oh and we are still thinking of names, we don’t even have runner-ups at the point but I have faith we will find the perfect one for him. My heart is full. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Product Review: eos “Basket of Fruit” Smooth Sphere Lip Balm Pack

I’ve seen many of my friends and even Kim Kardashian rave about these little lip balm spheres. Whether for dry, chapped lips or pregnancy lips, I was curious about lip balms from evolution of smooth. So when the PR rep invited me to try their new 4-pack “Basket of Fruit” Smooth Sphere Lip Balm collection, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try these globular objects full of organic goodness for my lips.

These lip balms already win points because they are 100% natural enriched with shea butter and jojoba oil.  What they are not is greasy, oily or sticky because they are petroleum-free, paraben-free and gluten-free. These will be perfect travel must-haves for an upcoming trip to NYC, where it’s sticky and humid already…just not on my lips.

Looking to Detox Your Skin?

Whether we know it or not, there are chemicals in everything we consume, from apples to microwavable popcorn.  I recently read an article about 7 Foods You Should Never Eat referencing expert commentary from food scientists. Fortunately, I haven’t eaten any of the forbidden foods but that got me thinking how it applies to what I put on my face.
One of my friends in New York put me in touch with Marie Michele, founder of Juvance Cosmetics. Her experience spans many of the beauty industry’s most renowned brands such as Clinique, Chanel and Shisheido.  Now Michele’s mission is to provide natural and therapeutic products and regimens to balance, enhance and renew the skin’s natural beauty. On my journey towards putting an end to my dry skin, I was excited to speak to this leading “skin scientist.”
I tried out the 4-step regimen Michele suggested after I gave her a rundown of my skin routine.  Her overall analysis was that my skin was “eating” but not “drinking”.  Here’s her custom recipe:

The main ingredient not included in these products? Alcohol! Also the culprit for dry skin. So yes, this is rehab for my face.  Granted, not all alcohol is created equal but after one week of use, I can see a difference in my skin. It’s smoother, my pores are smaller, no break outs and overall my skin just feels cleaner and moisturized.  Michele’s line of Juvance Cosmetics can be found in beauty boutiques in the tri-state area and can also be purchased directly on the Juvance Cosmetics website.  She’s currently working to become available in Whole Foods as well so make sure to look out for that! In the meantime, take a look at your skincare regimen and identify which ingredients you’re currently applying on your skin…you just  might be in need of a skin detox.  Share your thoughts below!
