Neiman Marcus welcomed us once again Saturday morning for a blogger brunch hosted by Christie Moeller to introduce us to some of my favorite brands’ fall beauty introductions. I got to sit down and learn more about this season’s hottest makeup colors and scents from my all time favorites such as Tom Ford, Fresh, Creed, Jo Malone and Kevyn Aucoin. I also got to meet some new bloggers, always great to meet like-minded females!
The highlight of the morning for me was that Tom Ford’s Black Orchid is celebrating it’s 10 year anniversary! One of my favorite scents of all time is Black Orchid and in honor of this milestone, Tom Ford collaborated with Lalique for an ultra exclusive edition, watch my video for more details! Oh and by the way, Tom Ford is launching LIP FOILS at the end of this month!!
We also had some sneak peeks into Neiman Marcus’ top fall fashion too including activewear, Jimmy Choo and Stuart Weitzman!
Thank you to Neiman Marcus and Christie Moeller, I’m all ready and set for fall!
Only in LA can you meet your favorite bloggers in one location all in one day. In addition, I had the opportunity to learn how these entrepreneurial women got their start and how they’ve turned blogging into a business. The Create + Cultivate experience was epic, with photo opportunities everywhere, pop-up shops and a beauty bar courtesy of Glamsquad.
Overall, what I took away from the panel-packed event was that you have to treat your blog as a business, be passionate and understand that we (bloggers) are all growing together. Learning how to evolve your blog was also another very interesting panel topic. Many bloggers in attendance were considering larger collaborations such as capsule collections for fashion brands. Understanding analytics was also a huge focus area as were conversations about how to maintain authenticity. Yes, there was even a discussion about how to handle haters on social media. I took so much from understanding how these bloggers came to be where they are now, their tipping points, their journeys – all very motivational!
Here are some inspirational highlights from Leslie Blodgett, founder of Bare Escentuals:
Leslie is celebrating her 20-year anniversary this year and she shared her story with us. Her philosophy has always been and will continue to be connecting with women. Leslie is inspired by reading books, new and old, doing things that make her nervous like public speaking. Although I would never expect it, she said she meditated the night before because she was anxious about speaking at the event. Overall, her mantra is do things with intention. Leslie also has a very interesting way of looking at social media platforms. She looks at Facebook like her living room, Twitter as a nightclub and Instagram as a bit of both, so oversharers out there, take note!
All in all, Create + Cultivate was an reenergizing experience for me. I’m already looking forward to next year’s event.
P.S. I also got the chance to Uber it to the airport! As a first-timer, I was pleased with the efficiency, ease and overall experience. Vegas needs Uber!
In this city of Sin, there are countless events happening every week. However, most of them cater to 24-hour party goers and equal opportunity event hoppers. Needless to say, there are ample pickings of parties and soirees to choose from in this town. However, every once in a while, there’s an event that makes me want to read through the invite twice. Usually, a pretty invite with luxury brand names written across the masthead is an easy hook for me.
Invited by my friend and fashion blogger, Laura Coronado of Lollieshopping, the Fall Beauty Preview Party at Neiman Marcus was not to be missed. She co-hosted the event along with fellow fashionista, stylist and blogger Christie Moeller.
Upon entry into Neiman Marcus at the Fashion Show Mall, I was greeted by a hostess with the mostess, literally. She gave me a gift bag and a beauty card for a chance to win a beautiful beauty basket. With my pomegranate martini in hand, I was ready to go on my beauty station tour. I visited the Fragrance, Nail, Hair, Skincare and Color areas to discover and be introduced to Laura’s and Christie’s “favorite beauty picks.”
While I consider myself an event veteran, having attended events for more than a decade now, I’ve come to appreciate those that impressively bring together a select group of people, a close-knit group of industry movers and shakers and Vegas insiders. Last night was one of those nights.
Cheers to the following ladies that came out to revel in all things beauty! Special thanks to Laura and Christie who made it all happen!
